What's Up at St. John's ...

Meditation & Contemplative Prayer

Tuesdays, February 27th & March 12th on Zoom

5:30 to 6:00 pm - Contemplative Prayer with the Cathedral of the Incarnation on Zoom.

We will practice making conscious contact with God by showing up as we are, gathering all of our fears, anxieties, and life circumstances that need special care, and simply bringing them to God. Our time together includes a guided meditation based on an ancient monastic prayer practice, time for intercession, silence, and beautiful ancient chants. Click here to join on Zoom, Meeting ID: 886 4443 9182

Jazz Connections - Sound Vocal Jazz

Sunday, March 3rd at 5 pm in the churchSound Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Jennifer Miceli featuring pianist Alex Pryrodny. will perform contemporary arrangements of your favorite jazz standards, paying homage to legendary vocal jazz ensembles like Manhattan Transfer; Lambert, Hendricks and Ross; and New York Voices. Inaugural concert of the new Jazz concert series Jazz Connections at St. John's Huntington. Tickets $20 Pre-sale/$15 Seniors, Students, Veterans/$30 General Admission on March 3rd. 


Tuesday Lenten Series at St. John

Tuesday, March 5th in the Great Hall. "Whole Health" with Mary Gallagher-Seaman, RN Consultant -- The focus will be on holistic well-being. We will look at the areas of self-care--where folks are now and where they want to be in the future. We will experience a mindfulness activity and be guided through our own individual self-assessment and begin to identify an action step for our personal wellness journeys.

Lenten Day of Prayer - "There's a Prayer for That"

Saturday, March 9th, 9 am - 12 pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Northport. The Rev. Deacon Claire D. Mis will lead a quiet day of reflection and prayer for Lent. A light breakfast will be served. There is no fee for this event. Sign up to join us in person or remotely:


Gentle Mat Yoga with Alice Weiser (E-RYT-500)

Saturdays at 10 am in the Guild Room beginning March 16th. In keeping with St. John’s theme for the season - "finding peace and well-being” - we are offering gentle yoga classes to quiet the mind and stretch and strengthen the body. All are welcome; modifications will be offered for different levels. Please note: in addition to standing, students will explore poses while seated, on hands and knees, and laying down. Students should be able to comfortably lower to and rise from the mat. Please bring a yoga mat and any other props you like to use (yoga blocks, strap, blanket). Fee: $15 for parishioners, $20 for non-members. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to St. John’s. 

Celtic Mass

Sunday, March 17th at 5pm in St. John's Church All are welcome at this contemplative, life-affirming mass with beautiful Celtic music in observance of the Feast of Patrick of Ireland.

Casual Conversations about the Episcopal Church

Sundays in Lent at 11:15 am in the Guild Room beginning February 18th. There are many folks that come to our church from different denominations. Have you ever wanted to ask the clergy questions that you might have about the Episcopal Church? Our clergy will be teaching Adult Confirmation and Reception Classes in Lent. Youth and Adult Confirmation and Reception to the Episcopal Church will be held on June 6th at 11:00. Please register online below.


Uncovering Our Parish History Project

On Sunday, February 4, 2024, the "Uncovering Our Parish History" Project Committee presented their report  "ST. JOHN’S CHURCH, HUNTINGTON, NY: ITS COLONIAL HISTORY AND INVOLVEMENT WITH SLAVERY" to the people of St. John's at our Annual Meeting.


Bible Study

Mondays at 6:30 pm on Zoom: Monday Bible Study will not meet on April 1st.

Tuesdays at 11:00 am in the Guild room. Tuesday Bible Study will not meet on March 19th, March 26th, April 2nd.

The material covered each Monday evening will be covered on the following Tuesday morning.

Thrift Shop 

Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays, noon to 3pm. Come & Shop our wide selection of clothing, accessories, and household items!

Donate - We accept donations of new or gently used clothing, accessories, and household items. Please no books, furniture, out-dated electronics, or damaged items.
